In September 2015, a handful of Muslim women gathered in Minneapolis to share their experiences and their observations about female leadership, community involvement, and civic engagement. Muslim women were teachers, scholars, professionals, activists, philanthropists—doing the work but going unacknowledged.

What’s new at the sisterhood?

The Sisterhood Launches New Anti-Racism Workshop Series

“ALL MANKIND IS FROM ADAM AND EVE. AN ARAB HAS NO SUPERIORITY OVER A NON-ARAB, NOR DOES A NON-ARAB HAVE ANY SUPERIORITY OVER AN ARAB; A WHITE HAS NO SUPERIORITY OVER A BLACK NOR DOES A BLACK HAVE ANY SUPERIORITY OVER A WHITE — EXCEPT BY PIETY AND GOOD ACTION.” —PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAW) THE LAST SERMON

The Sisterhood is excited to announce a new series to address anti-racism and work towards dismantling white supremacy. By following the Prophetic model, we are rooted in the Sunnah and reminded of the diversity of identities and how we show up. This series will provide language, examples, tools, techniques and most importantly sisterhood in order to change a system.

We are partnering with Minnesota Deaf Muslim Community, National Council of Jewish Women, and the Eastside Freedom Library to host interactive, thought-provoking workshops. Location will alternate between Northside Economic Opportunity Network (NEON) and the Eastside Freedom Library.

Register for a single session or purchase the series for a discounted price!
