Asma Mohammed graduated from Blake in 2010 and went on to study Political Science and Legal Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul. After graduating, Asma worked on Senator Franken’s successful reelection campaign in Minneapolis. Asma has also worked for 8 years in education—supporting hundreds of Minneapolis students and families as a teacher and then student services director. She has been deeply involved in local movements that support women and people of color.
As Advocacy Director for Reviving Sisterhood, Asma regularly leads trainings and speaks on issues around intersectionality, sexual violence, Muslim women's voices, countering Islamophobia, and women's rights. She creates and facilitates curriculum that is catered towards Muslim women and works to make sure Muslim women are included in all levels of the political process.
