Asma Mohammed

Asma Mohammed Nizami serves as the Program Manager for Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood for Empowerment, where she focuses on getting Muslim women involved in political life and amplifying their voices through leadership development and storytelling. She graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, where she studied Political Science and Legal Studies. During her time there, she was the president of the Muslim Student Association for all 4 years of her undergrad, and was a LearningWorks teacher for 3. After graduating, Asma worked on Senator Al Franken’s successful reelection campaign in Minneapolis. Asma has worked as a Student Services Director at LearningWorks, supporting hundreds of Minneapolis students and families. She has been deeply involved in Black Lives Matter Minneapolis, and also serves on the board for Break the Silence MN to bring attention the issue of sexual assault in our communities.
