Kaltun is a Somali-American, born and raised in the UAE and immigrated to the USA in 1995, along with her family, at the age of 13. She’s fluent in Somali, Arabic and English. She enjoys people, learning, teaching, swimming, traveling, and solitude in nature.
Kaltun is the founder and currently main teacher at Hikma Academy. Her dream is to equip her students with the knowledge and understanding of Islam that will help them be mindful of Allah, intentional in their living and contributing members of society.
Kaltun has been an avid Al-Maghrib student since 2005 and earned a BA in Islamic Studies from the institute. She graduated from the Ohio State University with a BS in Marketing and is currently pursuing an MSE in School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin River-Falls.
